How to Make a Complaint

So you have a complaint against a prosthetic facility and/or a specific prosthetist?

If you do and have not been able to get satisfaction from the named facility or prosthetist here is the address to send your written complaint to:

American Board for Certification in Orthotics & Prosthetics, Inc.
1650 King Street, Suite 500
Alexandria, VA 22314-2747
(703) 836-7114 Fax (703) 836-0838

The issue of complaints should not tbe taken lightly or used against a facility for anything not related to their prosthetic practice. For example, if you don't like the decor in a given facility or if their coffee is always cold.

However, complaints should be made if the faciltiy or prosthetist has been less than un-professional regarding his or her conduct to you as a client. For example if you perceive sexual harassment has taken place, if the prosthetist seems to be drunk, if the facility less than safe, consistently poor work (poor fitting prostheses), if the facility is poorly maintained and so on.

You have rights as a consumer and client of the faciltiy you have the freedom to utilise those rights as you see fit.

This is information is for people living within the United States.
