| I just visted your site and found out that is one of the best sites that I found it sure helps me out! Along with several other people. On Sept 8, 1998 I lost both lower (BK) legs in a construction accident. Thanks for your time.

| This list is the best place possible for a new or experienced amputee. If you are looking for support or just information on the issues that us amputees have to deal with in every day life. You will not find a better place on the world wide web.

As as new subscriber to the amputee list, I am astonished by what you have done to improve the availability of information for amputees. I cannot thank you enough for, nor compliment you enough on, the quality of information which I have already recieved since last Thursday. Your Website, the list, your E-Zine newsletter, and the people I have met on the list, have made me eager to learn the technology (about which I've been haphazard for 40 years) and given me a great deal of enthusiasm for my own walking, perhaps even running, future. Before I was accepting, looking for minor improvements. Now I feel aggresive about improvement.

"When I was a new amp I ran around the country like a crazed fool slinging hard earned dollars at everyone who "insinuated" that their product/service would make my one-leggedness ok. Did I do it because I'm stupid? Well, yeah I'm stupid, but that isn't why I did it. I did it because I just didn't know any better, and wanted so bad to have my life back.
When I found Ian's listserv, the money drain was slowed, if not plugged, with knowledge. I was encouraged to s-l-o-w down. I'm thankful that Ian has a good heart and a very strong will to weather the frequent firestorms thrown at him on "our" list. I've gotten pissed off and left this and other amp lists several times...I don't know how Ian hasn't done the same. But, that he hasn't, I'm glad and wiser for it."

Thanks Again Ian.

| I've learned about prosthetics, support, and many other issues regarding an amputation online. Sites, such as this has assisted me throughout my new-found life. At the age of 42, I would appreciate many of the prosthetic companies would start to appreciate the amputee that not only particpates in sports, but also the amputee that performs his/her employment duties. Such as myself maintaining a position as a carpenter/painter.
Keep up the excellent web site!

| I was just looking through some of the sites pertaining to amputations, and yours is the best I have seen so far. I have been an amputee since the age of 2(birth defect), and have gone through a lot of good and some bad in my life. I am now 43 and my legs and back are ailing me, but this site gives me a glimmer of hope that I may get back my lively hood. Keep up the Great Work.
