Getting
Wet with Your Prosthesis
If you are thinking of the summer
months already, you are probably thinking
about going to a lake or the ocean or even
the local swimming pool.
For many years we had the option of
hopping or using crutches, both stressful
in wet conditions and restricted to those
of us with the physical ability to do
so.
There are several products available
for the lower limb prosthesis user that
enable the prosthesis to be worn whilst
submerged in your favourite
hydractivity.
The
Swim Ankle
Developed by BK amputee Michael Ross,
the swim ankle is a fully functional ankle
that also extends into a fully functional
swimming foot. This device is particularly
useful for below knee amputees who are not
skilled in the art of hopping or require
more stability when entering water.
- Constructed of Non Corroding Delrin
and Stainless Steel
- Left or Right Side Application
- Easy to Use Locking System
- May be used in most lower limb
prosthesis
- Uses 10mm Footbolt and Standard 4
Hole Pattern
The SWIMANKLE locks in 2 positions for
walking or swimming
The SWIMANKLE uses the same 70-degree
plantar flexion as the ACTIVANKLE for
optimum swimming performance
Note: The Swimankle is not recommended
for use in sandy conditions.
Note: The Swimankle is manufactured
using the latest state of the art CNC
equipment and manufacturing processes to
ensure maximum reliability and ease of
operation.

This waterproof limb cover is ideally
for those wanting to maintain the
stability of wearing a prosthesis when
entering and exiting water. Made from a
