Almost 700 converged into the Clarion in Orlando, Florida on the weekend of July 8 and 9. Here's what some of them had to say....

Just got back from Orlando and what a great time I had.. Seeing all the different exhibits, the different sessions they had, the Peer Training was all great.. And meeting so many people on the list made the trip all worth while... To all who have never been to a ACA convention.. Try to make it to the next one.. You'll come back with so much information and a bunch of new friends.. !!!

This last week was the best time I have ever had, ever. I met the most terrific people, some for the first time some, thankfully again. So many conversations, so many old friends. So many new ideas and info. Such a terrific time. Learned that beer works great to replace fluids lost in equatorial heat , and replace carbs lost to excessive yakking. Remembered that I love networking. Went to Pleasure Island. What a place, a city in itself. Met Forrest, very interesting guy. Tried to dance with Bert without crutches, very interesting excercise in futility. Came back very late, very tired, very soaked.

Went to the Non-prosthetics symposia. Turned out to be all about yoga , but was still interesting. Went to my little hip- hemi thing like a family reunion. Met 11 people with the same or simmilar surgery as me, but thats where the similarties ended. Just absolutely fascinating. Got to stand up and talk too. Now George V. had called a month earlier and said he had a part for me in a skit and to bring this dress I had, and I said sure. I had no idea what I was getting into. Its a lot of fun getting that many peoiple to laugh that hard. You feel no phantom pain when that happens.

Even with all the things going on with the board, I can't wait to see what happens next. I will be the first to arrive and the last to leave Kansas city.

For so many decades it was "Amps 'R' Me." Now, just this past year, I've found "Amps 'R' Us." Some are still just CyberPals, others have faces. Many, many beautiful friends. Let's keep on fishin' fer more amp friends....................together

I wanted to let everyone who I met at the conference know what a pleasure it was to meet you. I learned so much at the various sessions but it can't compare to getting to know you. Since the conference will be more centrally located next year, I hope to meet everyone on this list.

I've already told myself that I'm not going to consider attending the conference next year if I'm not able to throw away the crutches. So you're all my motivation! I really had no idea just how much was possible until I saw what everyone could do! Dancing, roller blading, running and more! And here I wasn't so sure that walking without crutches was in my future!

I'm going to do my best to fight my insurance company or to find some state funding so that I can actually get the PT I so need. Ten days just wasn't enough time for me to get going again.

Hello Everyone: I just wanted to say to everyone that was in Orlando, it was once again a total pleasure. I tried to say goodbye to all of you, but it was hard to get to everyone and those of you that at the bar on Sunday night would not have remembered anyway. So, for all of you that I did not see personally, GOODBYE TIL NEXT YEAR. I would also like to get copies of any pictures that include me, and if I have any to pass around it will be my pleasure.
